Andrew J. Sperr Scholarship
Fund Aquinas Institute Rochester, NY
Our Mission Statement
The Andrew J. Sperr Memorial
Scholarship Award is named in memory of Andy (AJ) Sperr, a 1991
graduate of The Aquinas Institute who was tragically killed in the
line of duty as a New State Trooper. AJ was a vibrant young man who
loved his family, the outdoors and his job. He spent his life
serving others as a dedicated public servant. This fund will provide
tuition assistance to deserving Aquinas students in AJ’s name.
In awarding the
scholarship annually to a sophomore, junior or senior student the
following criteria shall be observed:
-
Personal Character
-
Loyalty to the ideals and values of
the Aquinas Institute of Rochester
-
Academic proficiency
-
Financial need, (that is; without
tuition assistance an Aquinas education would be difficult or
unattainable)
-
Preference shall be given to a
student who demonstrates leadership within Aquinas and the
community-at-large concerning service to others.
-
Preference to be given to a student
demonstrating an interest in a law enforcement career and takes
courses to that end.
